A BMW 645ci emblem replacement can help you restore that new car look to your vehicle. And best of all, you can do it in less than 20 minutes.
One of the first items to deteriorate on your BMW are the front and rear "roundels" mounted on your hood and trunk. The BMW roundels, also known as the vehicle's emblems, are prone to fading...especially on vehicles left outdoors. The following instructions show you how to perform a BMW 645ci emblem replacement on a 6 series E63/E64 car.
Please note that a BMW 645ci emblem replacement is slightly different from other BMW models due to the unique trunk release handle.

Section 1 - Replacing the Trunk Emblem/Roundel
- Use a metal pick or a plastic trim removal tool to carefully pry off the existing trunk lid emblem. The emblem is mounted to the trunk release handle with a double sided adhesive tape. Slowly work your way around the emblem until it you can grip it with your fingers and pull it free.
- Thoroughly soak the remaining adhesive with Goof Off Heavy Duty Remover...allow it to soak in for a couple of minutes. Use a plastic scraper and some clean rags to remove as much of the left over adhesive as possible. Let thoroughly dry.
- Peel the backing off of the new emblem and attach to trunk handle. There are two round holes on the back of the emblem that should align with the two round pins on the trunk handle. Use your fingers and the palm of your hand to press the emblem firmly into place on the trunk handle.
Section 2 - Replacing the Hood Emblem/Roundel
- Use a metal pick or plastic trim tool to remove front hood emblem. The hood emblem is anchored by two plastic pins on the back of the emblem that are inserted into plastic grommets embedded in the hood.
- Use a metal pick to "dig out" the old plastics grommets in the hood.
- Sometimes you will find some old adhesive under the emblem...usually left behind by someone who tried a "quick fix" on a loose emblem by trying gluing it back on. Use a plastic scraper to remove.
- Press the new plastic grommets into the holes with your fingertip. Grommets must be installed all the way so they are flush with hood.
- Install emblem by inserting plastic pins into grommets. Use the palm of your hand to apply even pressure on the emblem until the plastic pins are completely inside the grommets and the top of the emblem is flush with the hood.
